Role of metrology in conditions of crisis

This article is the speech of Lahov V.M., the Head of Federal agency for technical regulation and metrology Rostehregulirovanie, for the opening of All-Russian metrological sympozium. He shares his opinion concerning the role of metrology in terms of the crisis. To his point of view this field can be taken as the way to overcome the global economic recession. Nowadays new technologies which are being developed, the creation of products with new qualities and features perhaps can help to find the way out of the crisis.
