On September 1, 2019 ISO/IEC 17025–2019 came into force. This standard describes the general competence requirements for testing and calibration laboratories. In the present article professor S. Levin unites catastrophic historical facts, risk management analysis and this standard and considers whether this interconnection is actually possible and correct.
