World's Largest Electronics Fair and electronic Asia Open Electronics Fair's Hall of Fame Attracts Over 390 Global Brands10/13/2009 More than 3,400 exhibitors filling 5,100 booths are taking part in the 29th HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and electronicAsia 2009, the twin fairs that opened 13 October and continue through 16 October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in downtown Hong Kong. The concurrent shows benefit from the additional 20,000 square metres of space available with the opening, earlier this year, of the HKCEC expansion.The world's largest electronics fair, the HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) this year includes more than 4,400 booths and 2,852 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions. The Chinese mainland, Korea and Taiwan feature group pavilions at the fair, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). The fair's Hall of Fame includes more than 390 brands, a record-breaking number, including such well-known names as Coby, Daewoo International, Desay, Egoman, Goodway, Haier, Hyundai, Oregon Scientific, Skyworth, TCL and Vtech.
Six New Product ZonesNew product zones include Testing, Inspection & Certification, one of the Hong Kong Government's six new industry pillars. The zone counts more than 20 exhibitors from the mainland, Hong Kong and around the world. The fair's other new zones are Computers & Peripherals, Digital Imaging, Electronic Gaming, Healthcare Electronics and Digital World. Fair highlights include the In-Vehicle Electronics & Navigation Systems zone, catering to the fast-growing market for vehicle and navigational electronics, and the Technology Exchange zone, featuring the latest developments from Hong Kong's leading research institutes, universities and incubator companies. Similarly, the Product Demo & Launch Pad allows exhibitors to showcase their latest products to buyers and the media. Fair seminars include the "Latest Developments of EU Directives - RoHS2 & EuP," and "Electronic & Electrical Appliances Certification for Entering the Chinese Mainland and International Markets." World of SolarAsia's top trade show for electronic components, assemblies, production and display technology, electronicAsia this year is built around the theme "Connecting Tomorrow's World Today." The fair, organised by the HKTDC and MMI Asia Pte Ltd, includes more than 680 booths. Exhibits range from general semiconductors, sensors, cables and embedded systems, to microwave technology, display production, and manufacturing equipment and logistics for PCBs and other circuit carriers. Fair highlights include two special sections: the new World of Solar - Photovoltaic Energy zone, focusing on trends in the fast-growing solar business; and the World of Display Technology, offering advanced display components and assemblies. In addition, electronicAsia presents the World of Photovoltaics Conference - Opportunities and Challenges of the Asian Photovoltaic Industry. Leading players from around the world will speak at the two-day conference, 14 and 15 October.
