PHOTONICA 2010

IMAG has now accepted PHOTONICA in Moscow into its events portfolio, a specialist trade fair that has been held every year since 2006. For the 2010 event (19 - 22 April) IMAG will for the first time be engaged in exhibitor acquisition of international companies. Backed by IMAG´s many years of experience and expertise on the Russian market, PHOTONICA will be expanded into the leading trade fair for Russia and the CIS states, with a first-class service for exhibitors and visitors. Already PHOTONICA is the only trade fair of significance for the laser and optoelectronic technologies industry in Russia. The event is supported by important partners such as the Laser Association and LASER World of PHOTONICS, Munich. The exhibition spans the entire spectrum of the laser and optical industries. At the event in 2009, 140 companies from 10 countries took part as exhibitors, and around 5,000 visitors registered. Given the present status of registrations for 2010, it can be realistically expected that these figures will be surpassed.

Despite the international economic crisis, Russia is one of the most important growth markets in Europe and Asia. The market volume in laser technology is estimated at around $150 million per year. Currently there is intensive research activity, for example, in fibre optics, non-linear and diffractive optics. Laser and optical technology is regarded in the whole Russian high-tech field as the most advanced and most developed sector. Demand for the entire product range is rising constantly. As a result, for international suppliers this market promises tremendous growth potential.

PHOTONICA is an ideal platform for exhibitors wishing to enter this market. All the world´s important manufacturing countries in the sector will have the chance to put on a presentation to international standards. PHOTONICA reaches the key decisionmakers from the whole of Russia and is aimed also at visitors from the neighbouring countries.

IMAG´s annual programme of events encompasses over 50 events in around 20 countries. IMAG has been active on the Russian market since the early 1990s. Its current trade-fair portfolio also includes events in Moscow for the automotive and construction industry.
