More than 3,400 exhibitors filling 5,100 booths are taking part in the 29th HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and electronicAsia 2009, the twin fairs that opened 13 October and continue through 16 October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in downtown Hong Kong. The concurrent shows benefit from the additional 20,000 square metres of space available with the opening, earlier this year, of the HKCEC expansion.

The 10th anniversary of India's number one electronics trade fair, electronica India and productronica India 2009, gave a boost to the Indian and international electronics industry. Exhibitors across the spectrum of the electronics hardware and production technology were present under one roof at the trade fair held in Bangalore between September 8 and 11. Over 825 exhibitors and represented companies from 25 countries were present in two halls at this spectacular event. Countries like Germany, Taiwan, Singapore and China had their own pavilions.

NEMA, Rosslyn, Va., has published ANSI C119.5-2009, Electric Connectors — Insulation Piercing Connector Systems, Rated 600 Volts or Less (Low-Voltage Aerial Bundled Cables and Insulated and Non-Insulated Line Wires), which was produced by the ANSI C119.5 subcommittee on Insulation Piercing Connectors and approved by the Accredited Standards Committee on Connectors for Electrical Utility Applications, C119. The new standard establishes the electrical, mechanical, and environmental test requirements for electrical insulation piercing connectors.

Entries for the 2010 International CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards will be accepted August 24 through September 25, 2009, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® announced today. This widely recognized annual competition honors outstanding design and engineering in 36 consumer electronics product categories, including new software and online content categories. The 2010 Best of Innovations honorees will be announced at the New York Press Preview on November 10, 2009 at the Metropolitan Pavilion and showcased at the 2010 International CES, January 7-10, 2010.

The second day was noted by celebrating the anniversary of the company Rohde&Schwarz. This year the company R&S has fully renewed the design of it’s booth. A lot of attention attracts the vector signal generator R&S SMBV100A, which provides the level of output signal up to +24 dBm on the frequency of 6 GHz.
