Rohde & Schwarz is the first to add IEEE 802.11ac signaling to its radio communication tester02/28/2017 Many manufacturers of WLAN components limit their device and component testing to conventional WLAN access points. But this doesn't allow, for example, coexistence tests on devices that simultaneously communicate over WLAN and other wireless technologies. If users have unlimited access to the protocol stack, as provided by the new R&S CMW-KS656 software option, they can easily eliminate incompatibilities. The ability to upgrade the stack to meet future requirements makes it a safe investment. In signaling mode, users can now use the R&S CMW radio communication tester to analyze more than the RF characteristics of transmitters and receivers. They can test applications and the speed of a WLAN connection under realistic conditions in accordance with the IEEE 802.11ac standard. Interoperability tests with just one test instrument The R&S CMW500 wideband radio communication tester can be used to analyze even very complex sequences, for instance to measure LTE-WLAN traffic offloading or analyze coexistence interference in the DUT. Coexistence interference should to be eliminated as far as possible. It can occur when multiple wireless technologies are operated in parallel, such as when WLAN and a mobile network are both enabled on a smartphone or tablet. These test scenarios help developers and designers resolve in early product development phases issues that could later have a significant impact on market success.
