Keysight Technologies Announces Unique Ability to Extend Existing MXE EMI Receivers Up to 44 GHz

Keysight Technologies Announces Unique Ability to Extend Existing MXE EMI Receivers Up to 44 GHz

03/12/2015

Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS) announced frequency-extension upgrades for its standards-compliant MXE EMI receiver, enabling test labs to keep units current and extend instrument longevity. No other manufacturer allows users to upgrade frequency range after the initial purchase of a standalone electromagnetic interference (EMI) receiver.

With this offering, users can extend the installed maximum frequency of their existing instrument to 8.4, 26.5 or 44 GHz. The upgrade price includes installation, calibration and a full one-year instrument warranty. The receiver retains its existing options, applications and serial number. This lower-cost alternative to new equipment is valuable to EMI compliance test facilities that are coping with today's evolving frequency coverage requirements.

"With its upgradable platform, the MXE enables customers to evolve their test equipment to meet the changing needs of their markets," said Satish Dhanasekaran, marketing manager of Keysight's Microwave and Communications Division. "In the lab and on the bench, the MXE provides the accuracy, repeatability, reliability and frequency coverage needed to keep test queues flowing."

Frequency-range extension is a return-to-Keysight service center upgrade. This provides a convenient opportunity for customers to install additional functionality and measurement applications that further enhance asset utilization. For example, customers can reduce overall test time by adding the time-domain scan measurement option, which adds FFT-based frequency scanning for fast creation of signal lists. Available enhancements to the instrument platform include an upgrade to Windows 7 operating system and the external source control capability.

For those who perform spectrum analysis for related electromagnetic compliance (EMC) work, such as pre-compliance testing, using a PXA, MXA or EXA signal analyzer, Keysight offers frequency range upgrades up to 50 GHz (depending on model). Additional enhancements include analysis bandwidth of up to 160 MHz and real-time spectrum analysis (RTSA).

Keysight's global network of service centers, mobile calibration labs and resident professionals provide customer support at more than 75 locations around the world.
