The new R&S ATS1000 antenna test chamber from Rohde & Schwarz allows developers and production engineers to perform over-the-air (OTA) measurements for 5G on their antenna modules, transceivers, chipsets and wireless devices. Antenna and transceiver measurements are possible in the frequency range from 18 GHz to 87 GHz. The system therefore supports all millimeter-wave frequency bands currently considered for 5G. The compact test chamber makes it possible to measure mobile devices in the far field.

Pioneering German broadcaster, RTL II, has selected Rohde & Schwarz to provide state-of-the-art AV content monitoring and multiviewer facilities for its revolutionary new totally IP-based OTT playout.

From April 1, 2018 onward, car manufacturers are required to equip new vehicles for sale in the EU with an eCall module. In the event of a serious accident, this emergency call system automatically sends data to the uniform European emergency phone number 112 to facilitate faster response by emergency services. The independent test house CETECOM has now certified the eCall test solution from Rohde & Schwarz, which can be used to simulate a public safety answering point, in accordance with the EN standard. Digital TV receiving equipment and terrestrial tuner chipset manufacturers can now test the performance of their products for compliance with the ATSC 3.0 standard using only a single unit. To do so, Rohde & Schwarz offers an ATSC 3.0 realtime coder and a waveform testing library for its R&S BTC broadcast test center. As a reference signal generator, the R&S BTC generates the globally used TV and audio broadcasting standards, simulates transmissions and analyzes the audio/video functions of DUTs in realtime.

Based on the R&S CMW platform, the latest version of the R&S CMW100 communications manufacturing test set is preparing the industry for 5G new radio (NR) sub-6 GHz devices.

It is the only instrument on the market that can internally simulate a complex interference environment in parallel with GNSS signals. With the R&S SMW200A, Rohde & Schwarz heralds a new era in GNSS simulation.

Rohde & Schwarz tested the Genova Origin packaging solution from Keepixo for compatibility with its R&S PRISMON monitoring and multiviewer solution. R&S PRISMON successfully received and monitored in detail all common OTT protocols, including HLS and MPEG-DASH. Rohde & Schwarz focused in particular on subtitle packaging tests based on diverse formats.
